A family member of Chief Lawrence’s first wife has come forward to defend her amid claims that she has been sidelined by her husband and continues to face criticism online from him and his second wife.
The man, who identified himself as the elder brother of Chief Lawrence’s first wife, expressed disappointment over what he described as the treatment meted out to his sister despite the support she gave her husband during his difficult years.
According to him, his sister stood by Chief Lawrence when he had little or nothing, providing him with shelter and food at a time when he was struggling.
“My sister housed and fed him when Chief Lawrence had nothing. It’s quite unfortunate that he has no respect for his own children,” he said.
He maintained that his sister’s sacrifices during the early stages of their relationship should not be forgotten, particularly now that she is allegedly being pushed aside.
The family member also lamented what he described as the continued online shading directed at his sister by Chief Lawrence and his second wife.
He suggested that the situation was particularly painful because of the history between the couple and the support his sister reportedly offered when Chief Lawrence was still trying to establish himself.
His comments have since drawn attention to the long-standing issues surrounding Chief Lawrence’s family, with discussions online focusing on the sacrifices made by his first wife and the treatment she allegedly received in return.
