NAHCO, Union Dicon and Fidelity Bank Lead Gainers Chart as Market Value Reaches N50.74bn

National Aviation Handling Company topped the gainers’ chart at the close of the first weekday of trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 10% increase in its share price to close at N242.00 per share, news.ng reports.

This came after the NGX recorded a total of 983,862,676 shares traded across 76,236 deals, as market value reached N50.74 billion.

According to market data, Monday’s trading activity showed a 22% decline in volume and a 6% decline in turnover, while deals improved by 34%.

The current market capitalization of the NGX stands at N140.4 trillion (USD 104 billion).

Out of the 133 equities listed for trading, 36 recorded gains, while 37 declined.

Apart from NAHCO topping the gainers’ chart, Union Dicon Salt gained 10% to close at N18.15 per share, Fidelity Bank gained 9.98% to close at N22.05, and Trans-Nationwide Express followed with a 9.92% gain to close at N6.65 per share.

On the losing side, Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank lost 50.79% of its share price to close at N9.35 per share, followed by Stanbic IBTC Holdings, which lost 10% to close at N169.70 per share. LivingTrust Mortgage Bank also lost 10% to close at N3.69 per share, while Transcorp Power saw a 9.97% decline to close at N272.70 per share.

Access Holdings recorded the highest volume, with 91.6 million shares traded, followed by First HoldCo with 70.2 million shares, Zenith Bank with 54.9 million shares, and Lasaco Assurance with 53.8 million shares traded.
