Real Madrid full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer have been recalled to the England squad for the forthcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Spain, Czech Republic, and Croatia commencing the following week.
In addition to the two players, Liverpool striker, Rio Ngumoha, Bournemouth midfielder, Alex Scott, Newcastle United full-back Lewis Hall, and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite have also returned to the squad following their exclusion from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, according to The Athletic.
Alexander-Arnold’s selection marks his first call-up to the England squad in 15 months, during which he has made two starts in La Liga for Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid.
Ngumoha, conversely, earned his senior international debut in a friendly match against New Zealand in June but was not selected by Tuchel for the World Cup squad.
Calvert-Lewin featured during the March international break but was excluded from the World Cup squad, whereas Scott is anticipated to make his debut under Tuchel’s management.
Palmer, by contrast, has secured his place in the squad through an impressive performance in the 2026-27 season with Chelsea.
England’s Nations League campaign commences on September 26 with a home fixture against reigning European and world champions Spain. Three days subsequently, they travel to face the Czech Republic. On October 3, they encounter Croatia before hosting the Czech Republic again three days later.
