NCAA Petitions AGF, IGP To Investigate K1 De Ultimate Over Alleged Disruption On ValueJet Flight

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police, calling for a thorough investigation and possible prosecution of popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate.

The petition follows an incident on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, involving K1 De Ultimate aboard ValueJet flight VK201. The incident allegedly disrupted normal flight operations and violated established aviation safety protocols.

In a press release signed by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, the Authority stated that preliminary findings indicate the artiste may have breached provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023.

“The Authority has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police for a comprehensive criminal investigation and appropriate prosecution, in line with Nig. CARs 2023 and all relevant laws,” the statement read.

The Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, also issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), recommending that K1 De Ultimate be placed on a no-fly list pending the conclusion of investigations.

The advisory, according to the NCAA, aligns with global aviation safety standards that emphasize the protection of passengers, crew, and flight operations.

“The NCAA reiterates its unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation industry. No individual, regardless of status, will be allowed to compromise the safety of our airspace,” the statement added.

Further details will be communicated as investigations continue.
