NGX: Trading Volume Rises 3% as Market Capitalization Stood at N155.6tn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) ended the last trading day of the week with a total of 607,947,179 shares exchanged in 53,755 deals, with a corresponding market value of N26.211 billion, news.ng reports.

According to market data, trade volume increased by 3%, while turnover declined by 6% and the number of deals dropped by 6%. The NGX market capitalization stands at N155.6 trillion (USD 114 billion).

Today, we saw more gainers, with 36 equities in the green, while 13 recorded losses out of the 132 listed for trading.

On the gainers chart, Abbey Mortgage Bank led with a 10% increase in share price to close at N9.35 per share, followed by International Energy Insurance with a 10% gain, closing the day at N7.26 per share.

Media outfit Daar Communications followed with a 10% gain to close at N1.98 per share, while Zichis Agro Allied Industries saw its share price rise by 9.39% to close at N32.38 per share.

On the losing side, Academy Press was the most hit, recording a 9.84% loss to close at N8.25 per share.

University Press recorded a 9.73% loss to close at N5.10 per share, while VFD Group lost 7.59% to close at N10.35 per share. BUA Foods followed, losing 2.9% of its share price to close at N939 per share.

On the highest traded volume, Abbey Mortgage Bank recorded the highest volume with 164 million shares traded, followed by Ellah Lakes with 76.7 million shares, Access Holdings with 44.8 million shares, and Linkage Assurance with 23 million shares traded.
