NPFL: Mangut relieved as Nasarawa United halt winless streak

Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut was relieved to see his side return to winning ways in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, DAILY POST reports.

The Solid Miners put an end to their three-game winless streak with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Warri Wolves at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Chimezie Victor gave the hosts the lead from the spot three minutes before the break.

Substitute Ngei Oluka-Efor and Habibu Alakija added two more goals for the hosts in the second half.

“Congratulations to all of us in the team. It’s somewhat a relief for us because we brought ourselves to this situation, even though this is not where we wanted to be,” Mangut told the club’s media.

Nasarawa United remain in sixth position on the table despite the win.

The Lafia club will return to action against Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga, Ibadan this weekend.
