Plateau United technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, says his side played under pressure despite securing a 1-0 win over Kwara United.
Alex Agahowa scored the winning goal for the Peace Boys in the matchday two fixture at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
Ogunbote said the pressure of hosting their first home game of the season, coupled with the desire to bounce back from their opening-day defeat, affected the team’s performance.
“Playing your first home game of the season comes with its own pressure and also trying to make up for the opening day defeat in Port Harcourt,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
“The most important thing is that we got a win through a clean goal.”
The veteran tactician noted that the team is still settling in with several new recruits.
“The team is still a work in progress with the new recruits, but the synergy will be gradual with subsequent matches,” he added.
Plateau United will now turn attention to their next NPFL fixture away to Niger Tornadoes in Minna this weekend.
