Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George said he is counting on Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title race.
Ikorodu City will entertain Rangers in their last match of the season at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Sunday.
Rivers United need Ikorodu City to avoid defeat to have a chance of winning the league title.
The Pride of Rivers will host Katsina United in Port Harcourt ,and must secure a win. to take advantage of any slip from the leaders.
Finidi said his side is focused on winning their own game, and will wait to see how the result in Lagos plays out.
“We will concentrate on our game and see how the result in Lagos will be favorable,” he told the club’s media.
“Ikorodu City also want a win which is a plus for us as they also have something to play for.
“We have to win our own game too and hopefully the result will favor us.”
Rivers United enters the final matchday needing three points and a favorable outcome elsewhere to claim the NPFL title.
