The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested three suspects over alleged involvement in the theft of electric cables and a commercial tricycle, popularly known as Adaidaita Sahu, in separate incidents across the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi.
According to the statement, two of the suspects were arrested in the Yunfawa area of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, while the third suspect was apprehended along the Kofar Waika to Kofar Dawanau axis in Kano metropolis.
The statement explained that the two suspects arrested in Yunfawa were allegedly caught removing electrical cables belonging to the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), with a total length of about 300 metres.
In a separate incident, the Corps said it also arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of an Adaidaita Sahu tricycle.
The vehicle was reportedly stolen while it was parked by the roadside with a female passenger inside, after the rider had stepped away.
The NSCDC said preliminary investigations were ongoing, adding that all the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
