The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, has received the Integrity Seal Award at the Lawyers in Energy International Conference, LEICA, 2026 in recognition of its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and regulatory excellence in Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
The award was presented to the Commission on Monday during the Awards and Dinner Night of the ongoing LEICA 2026 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
The three-day conference was themed: “Net Zero, Energy Law and Regulatory Reforms: Managing Risk and Unlocking Opportunity in a Carbon-Constrained Energy Market.”
Eniola Akinkuotu, Head of Media and Corporate Communications, reports that the organisers honoured the Commission for its “steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability and regulatory excellence in the Nigerian upstream petroleum sector.”
Speaking during the event, the Commission Secretary and Legal Adviser, Ms. Olayemi Adeboyejo, who was represented by the Head of Commercial and Legal Services, Mr. Moses Pila, reaffirmed NUPRC’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy development through robust regulatory frameworks and industry-driven initiatives.
She noted that Nigeria’s transition to sustainable energy has progressed beyond policy discussions to concrete and measurable actions aimed at ensuring responsible resource development and effective environmental stewardship.
Adeboyejo stressed that the Commission remains committed to implementing policies and regulatory reforms that promote investment, strengthen governance and support the country’s energy transition while ensuring the sustainable development of its petroleum resources.
