Nasarawa Amazons head coach, Christopher Danjuma, has defended his team’s defeat to Robo Queens in their final match of the 2025-26 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, regular season.
The Amazons lost 2-1 to Robo Queens at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Wednesday.
Danjuma said that the game was to test the strength of his squad ahead of the NWFL Super Six playoff tournament.
Nasarawa Amazons will battle with NWFL defending champions, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, Abia Angels and Robo Queens in the playoff tournament.
“We used this game to test the strength of the squad and give opportunities to players who haven’t had enough playing time,” Danjuma stated after the game.
“Every game counts, and this is part of our preparation for the next competition.”
