Obasa Mobilises Agege Voters For Tinubu, Hamzat, APC

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on residents to mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obasa made the call on Wednesday while leading an APC mega rally at Amoo Field, Orile-Agege, to formally kick off the party’s campaign in the constituency.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Director-General of the Agege and Orile-Agege campaign, Johnson Babatunde, Obasa urged supporters to take the campaign to households, markets, artisan groups, places of worship and community associations.

He said the party must translate its numerical strength in Agege into increased votes for its candidates at the polls.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Obasa urged them to vote for President Bola Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, representing Lagos West, and himself as the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency.

He also urged party members to mobilise support among trade associations, artisans, religious and traditional leaders, as well as members of different communities in the constituency.

Obasa described the turnout at the rally, despite the midday heat, as a demonstration of the APC’s strength and cohesion in Agege.

“Let us join hands and make sure we deliver. It is not just about victory; we must surpass our previous votes. Sound it loud to everybody – all trade associations, artisans, tribes, religious and traditional leaders. We have the numbers, and we will pour it into the APC,” he said.

“Agege is always one. And we will continue to be one. There is nothing wrong with our party in Agege.”

The Speaker urged supporters to remain focused on the campaign and disregard reports, rumours and criticism from political opponents.

He also called on political actors and their supporters to maintain peace throughout the campaign and election period, stressing that voters should be allowed to freely choose their representatives.

The rally was attended by traditional and religious leaders, APC leaders and supporters, representatives of trade associations and artisan groups, as well as leaders of non-Yoruba communities.

The APC chairmen of Agege and Orile-Agege, Alhaji Fatai Bisiriyu and Alaba Alashe, respectively, also urged party members to mobilise support for the party’s candidates, including Tinubu, Hamzat, Adebule, Obasa, Gbenga Abiola for Agege Constituency I and Sule Sakiru for Agege Constituency II.

The Chairman of Agege Local Government, AbdulGaniy Obasa, expressed confidence that the APC candidates would fulfil their campaign promises.

His counterpart in Orile-Agege, Akinola Idowu, also pledged to mobilise support for the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections.
