Obi Betrayed APGA, Don’t Vote Him – Anambra Govt Alleges

The Anambra State Government has asked electorates, particularly in the region, to resist voting for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 general election.

The government disclosed this on Monday through a series of graphic messages branded with images of Obi, describing him as a betrayal of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Obi served as governor of Anambra State under the APGA, but party proponents have called him an outsider who supports candidates from other parties rather than APGA.

“A betrayal alert for Ndi APGA. Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him.

“In 2015, while President Tinubu stood with APGA, Obi backed the opposition to bury us. Do not be deceived by a man who abandoned his own house.

Anambra is APGA. Ndi APGA, defend your home, resist the NDC.,” the illustrations read, asking proponents of APGA to align their vote with Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The state government, through the office of the New Media to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, further noted that the APGA’s alignment with the centre is grounded in a 22-year friendship with the President and his bold economic reforms.

Recall that Soludo had publicly declared his support for Tinubu, while urging political parties that identify as progressive to form a broad coalition to strengthen democracy and drive economic and social development.

Meanwhile, the Soludo administration’s campaign against Obi is rooted in years of political rivalry and, more recently, in a state debt dispute in which the former accused Obi of falsehoods regarding his claims of leaving Anambra State debt-free.
