Nollywood actor Niyi Ralph has claimed that some Nigerians, particularly supporters of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, oppose President Bola Tinubu because they have not accepted the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
Ralph made the claim during a recent interview with Nolly TV while discussing the criticism directed at the President.
According to the actor, Tinubu was not widely accepted by some Nigerians from the beginning and argued that the hostility towards him was not mainly about the economy.
“People’s anger was because he won the 2023 election after all Nigeria has experienced. Those who believe they won that we don’t even know how they came to that conclusion, I mean the Obidients, and they’re still hurt,” he said.
Ralph further argued that some of those who remain dissatisfied with Tinubu would criticise him regardless of what he does.
“And you know because of that hurt there’s nothing you want do whether good or bad, they’ll condemn it,” he added.
The actor also challenged those who believe Tinubu is not performing well to present their own plans for governing the country.
“You all are complaining that he’s not doing well and you want to do it, ok come out and tell us your plan cos Tinubu told us his plan before he assumed office and he’s doing it,” Ralph said.
His comments have generated reactions online, with some Nigerians questioning his position and others highlighting the country’s economic and political challenges.
