Oyebanji’s Victory A Vote For Continuity, Says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

According to Tinubu, the renewed mandate is a vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people-centred governance.

In a statement on Sunday by the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu also commended the people of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully during the election.

He said security agencies maintained law and order throughout the electoral process and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sustain efforts towards delivering peaceful, free, fair and credible elections ahead of the Osun governorship poll in August and the 2027 general elections.

According to Tinubu, the governor has recorded significant progress in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth employment and rural development under the BAO agenda, earning him a renewed mandate from the electorate. He further stated that the election result represented a vote for continuity, stability and people-centred governance.

He urged Oyebanji to remain magnanimous in victory and to carry all Ekiti people along as he consolidates on his achievements in the next four years.

Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election for exercising their democratic rights and urged them to join hands with the governor to advance the development of the state.

He further reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working closely with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more democratic dividends and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda, and also prayed for wisdom, strength and good health for Governor Oyebanji as he continues to serve the people of Ekiti State.
