The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports suggesting it held a meeting with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the claims as false and misleading.
The denial comes from a faction of the party aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and said to be backed by a recent judgment of the Court of Appeal.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PDP clarified that it did not hold any form of meeting—formal or informal—with the ADC or its representatives.
The party further stressed that any individuals reportedly involved in such engagements acted strictly in their personal capacities and should not be seen as representing the PDP.
It urged members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the reports, insisting they do not reflect the party’s official position.
Meanwhile, the PDP revealed that preparations for its upcoming party primaries are already at an advanced stage, with timelines and guidelines expected to be announced in due course.
