PDP Postpones Screening Of Aspirants For 2025 National Convention, Cites ‘Unforeseen Circumstances’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday announced the postponement of the screening of aspirants for its 2025 National Convention, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

In a statement signed by the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) chairman and Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, the party said the rescheduling was due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

“The NCOC of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconvenience caused by the postponement,” the statement read.

The party urged all aspirants and members to take note and be guided accordingly, assuring that preparations remain on course for a credible and hitch-free convention slated for Saturday, November 15, to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
