Popular Nigerian content creator Peller has sparked reactions online after a video showed him gifting a groundnut seller and her daughter N1 million during an Instagram livestream on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The mother and daughter appeared on the livestream while Peller spoke with them about their business. During their conversation, he asked how much money they had invested in the groundnut business. The woman disclosed that they had goods worth only N3,000, while displaying her bucket of groundnuts.
Peller subsequently asked the woman how much she would be willing to sell the goods for. She jokingly mentioned N1 million, but Peller surprised her by agreeing to the amount and immediately transferring the money.
He instructed the pair to check their bank account and confirm that the transfer had gone through.
However, the moment took an unexpected turn when the daughter’s reaction appeared less enthusiastic than Peller had anticipated. Her seemingly calm response upset the content creator, who threatened to send his account details so the money could be refunded.
The girl quickly apologised and pleaded with Peller, apparently trying to explain her reaction.
Peller went on to explain that he expected a more emotional response to such a huge gesture. According to him, if he were in her position and received such a gift, he would show genuine excitement and appreciate the person who gave it to him in a special way.
