Nigerian music star Peter Okoye is reminiscing on his maltreatment from the music industry and fans.
On his Twitter page, he noted how there was a time the music industry and even the fans weren’t fair to him. However, things have changed, and the love is overwhelming.
Questioning what had changed, he believed the truth had finally revealed itself.
“Not gonna lie…
There was a time the music industry and even the fans weren’t fair to me.
Today, the love is overwhelming.
What changed?
Maybe the truth has a way of revealing itself with time. OG FOREVER Album is coming with more truth!”
Tackling him, an X user told him to stop telling them about his family problems and playing victim or risk being forced to be sent back. He stated that emotions won’t make them stream his songs and admonished him to make good music.
“Oga, there’s no truth. Stop telling us about your family problems and playing victim, or we’ll be forced to send you back. Who’s this man? Emotion won’t make us stream your songs. Make good music that resonates with your fans and stop bringing these unnecessary talks all the time”.
Responding to him, Peter told the X user to cry more.
“Cry more! .. I know my success is pain inda ass! This is for you”.

In a recent interview, he blamed the P-Square reunion for his slow social media growth. He noted how he was among the top Nigerian entertainers in terms of online influence and engagement metrics. But now, his social media growth had dropped drastically.
In April, Peter announced that he was officially changing his birthday date from November 18th to November 30th. The singer said it is a personal decision and he appreciates the public for understanding.
Responding to critics on Twitter, he questioned why they were so pained and outraged that he cancelled Christmas. Peter further questioned why people were crying more than the bereaved and made it known that their insults don’t move him.
Not done, in a series of tweets, Peter pointed out the irony that no one mentioned they were blood when his brothers were stealing from him and creating a false narrative about him. He said even if his parents were alive, he would still step back from his siblings.
When a tweep admonished him to remove Psquare from his name following his decision, Peter said he had discovered the name, earned it, and would own it.
Earlier in the year, Peter shut down any possibility of the famous group ever coming back, making it clear that Psquare was done and dusted. He admonished critics to respect people’s decisions, noting that nothing lasts forever and that change is constant.
Recall that in 2023, Psquare had fallen out again because of the joint funds being diverted by their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
