The Yobe State Police Command has intensified security measures at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area, following an on-the-spot assessment by the Commissioner of Police.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said in a statement that CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin led the visit on Tuesday as part of the command’s renewed strategy to protect strategic institutions and public facilities.
Addressing corps members during the tour, CP Jibrin stressed the need for vigilance.
“You must be security conscious, watch for early warning signals, and promptly report any suspicious activity to camp authorities and security personnel,” he said.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Okochi Okpara, who received the commissioner and his entourage, described the collaboration between the police command and the NYSC as “indispensable” to ensuring the safety of corps members and staff.
He also commended security personnel deployed to the camp for their efforts in providing maximum security for the facility.
CP Jibrin inspected the camp surroundings and charged deployed officers to remain vigilant, professional and proactive in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I corps members later showcased parade drills, Taekwondo displays and other training skills, reflecting the discipline instilled in them during their orientation programme.
