FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has taken a swipe at Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma after the APC governor recently reaffirmed his opposition to political alliances that could undermine President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, said APC governors had resolved not to support any political arrangement that could weaken the ruling party or work against Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Reacting to the political development, Wike said:
“Politics is no longer about coming from fourth place to become governor.”
The comment has been interpreted by some Nigerians as a reference to Uzodimma’s emergence as Imo governor, while others viewed it as part of the growing political exchanges ahead of the 2027 election.
