A Nigerian lady has expressed concern over the rising cost of electricity, highlighting the sharp difference in the number of units she now receives for the same amount of money.
The lady took to social media to share her experience, comparing the electricity units she purchased with ₦50,000 in May to what the same amount gets her in September.
According to her, she bought ₦50,000 worth of electricity in May and received 958.5 units. However, she claimed that the same amount now gives her only 222 units.
She described thedevelopment as a significant increase in electricity costs and questioned President Bola Tinubu over the situation.
“Nigerians don’t really know what’s happening in this country. I used to buy ₦50,000 worth of electricity around May and get 958.5 units. Now on this September, the same ₦50,000 is giving me just 222 units. This is over a 400% increase. President Tinubu, what is happening? Nigerians, please go and get your Permanent Voter’s Cards. We need to vote out this government next year.”
Her comments have drawn attention to the concerns of electricity consumers over the amount of power units they receive for the same monetary value.
