Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has described Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as a compassionate leader who has dedicated herself to the service of humanity.
Sanwo-Olu stated this while congratulating the First Lady on her 66th birthday in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The governor described Tinubu as an advocate of social justice, philanthropist, voice for the oppressed and downtrodden, as well as a dependable partner to President Bola Tinubu.
He said the First Lady had dedicated almost three decades of her life to serving the people, including three consecutive terms as a senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District.
According to him, during her time in the Senate, Tinubu sponsored and supported legislation aimed at improving the lives of women, children and vulnerable persons.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted her philanthropic activities and personal support for individuals and groups seeking assistance for personal development.
The governor said Tinubu had continued her humanitarian efforts as Nigeria’s First Lady through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said had impacted millions of lives and provided relief and support to families across the country.
“Dedicating almost three decades of her life to serving the people, especially as a member of the Red Chamber representing Lagos Central Senatorial District for three consecutive terms, Senator Tinubu has sponsored and supported bills and legislations that touched on the elevation of women, children and vulnerable persons in our country. She has personally supported individuals and groups in need of assistance for personal development.
“As Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has positively impacted millions of lives through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has brought relief, hope, progress and development to many families in different parts of the country,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He wished the First Lady continued divine guidance, good health and strength to serve humanity, Lagos State and Nigeria.
