The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has debunked reports circulating on social media alleging that a software upgrade within the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) would cause a delay in the payment of October salaries.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information, Mallam Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF clarified that IPPIS had previously operated on three payroll platforms. However, in 2024, one of the platforms was successfully migrated to the “SoftSuite” application, leaving two active systems — EBS and SoftSuite.
Following the suboptimal performance of the EBS platform, the Federal Government approved the consolidation of all payroll operations under SoftSuite. The move, according to the OAGF, is not a new initiative but part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and accuracy in salary administration.
The Office assured that the integration process is being carefully managed, noting that while minor issues may arise during the transition, all identified errors are being promptly addressed. It further stressed that there will be no major disruptions in salary payments.
“The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation assures all federal workers and stakeholders that October salaries remain intact and will be paid as scheduled,” the statement read in part.
The OAGF also urged Treasury and IPPIS personnel, as well as the public, to disregard misleading reports that did not originate from its office, and to rely only on official communications for accurate information.
