The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, and other party leaders occupying key positions.
The Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre released the council’s composition on Thursday as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 elections.
Sanwo-Olu is listed in both the advisory and campaign structures. Prince Tajudeen Olusi is Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu is Advisory Council Chairman, with Fashola and Ambode serving as co-chairmen.
Other members of the advisory structure include President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
Ojelabi Cornelius is listed as Vice Chairman I, Obasa as Vice Chairman II, while Damilola Sonayon James is Vice Chairman III.
At the campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu will serve as chairman, with his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as deputy chairman.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is designated Director-General, while Rasaq Ajala will serve as Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka as Campaign Secretary.
The campaign council comprises several directorates and committees covering areas including legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
The unveiling comes amid increased preparations by the Lagos APC for the 2027 elections, following the emergence of Hamzat as the party’s governorship candidate and Damilola Sonayon-James as his running mate.
The campaign council is scheduled to be formally inaugurated on September 18 at the APC Secretariat in Ikeja.
