According to reports, troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade, working alongside the CJTF, apprehended the suspect identified as Bulama Modu in Shauri village along the Mainok axis at about 9:10 a.m. on March 26, 2026.
Items recovered from the suspect included a Tecno mobile phone, some charms, and a small amount of cash estimated at N5,700. Security sources believe the suspect may have been involved in passing information to insurgent groups operating in the region.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue, while security agencies intensify efforts to identify and dismantle wider informant and collaborator networks believed to be supporting terrorist activities in the North-East.
Authorities have also praised the cooperation between troops and local vigilante groups, noting that intelligence sharing remains key in the fight against insurgency.
