Security forces neutralise two terrorists during patrol in Katsina

Security forces have killed two suspected terrorists during a patrol operation in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The development was contained in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the incident happened around 6:20 p.m. on April 30 near Dankwabo village when troops of the 17 Brigade, while on patrol, encountered armed men.

Security sources said the troops engaged the suspects in a gun battle, leading to the neutralisation of two of them, while others escaped.

“Items recovered from the scene include an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, two rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a motorcycle, four mobile phones, a power bank, and the sum of ₦20,000,” Makama wrote.

The sources added that troops have continued follow-up operations to track down fleeing suspects and ensure the area is safe from further attacks.
