Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing its policies as ineffective while accusing the government of operating what he called “three fake budgets.”
Speaking with journalists during a court appearance, Sowore argued that any government whose policies revolve around “kulikuli, agbado and akara” is already on its way out, insisting Nigerians have a duty to vote such an administration out of office.
Although he did not mention anyone by name, his remarks is referenced to comments previously made by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, who encouraged Nigerians to embrace small businesses such as selling kulikuli, roasted corn and akara as a means of earning a living.
“Any regime you see that starts picking kulikuli, agbado and akara as their policy, you’ll know that regime is already on their way out.
We owe them a duty to get them out so that the country can breathe, the poor can breathe, and our country will not be operating three fake budgets,” he said
Sowore maintained that the current administration has failed to address the economic hardship facing ordinary Nigerians, insisting that citizens deserve policies that improve their standard of living rather than what he described as survival measures.
His remarks have since generated reactions online, with supporters agreeing with his criticism, while others defended the Tinubu administration and its efforts to encourage entrepreneurship amid the country’s economic challenges.
