Spurs Win First Premier League Game Since December, Liverpool Bag Three Vital Points

Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon won their first Premier League game in 118 days (December 28, 2025), thanks to João Palhinha’s 82nd-minute goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, news.ng reports.

Although it was a narrow victory for Spurs under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, the team will look to boost their chances of exiting the relegation zone.

On the other hand, Wolves are currently rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table, having already been relegated with 17 points from three wins after 34 matches.

It is expected that Spurs, who are currently 18th, will capitalise on this victory as they face Aston Villa next Sunday.

Elsewhere, Liverpool secured the needed three points against Crystal Palace with a 3–1 win.

Alexander Isak, Andy Robertson, and Florian Wirtz were on target for the Reds in the 35th, 40th, and 96th minutes, while Palace’s only goal came from Daniel Muñoz in the 70th minute.

Liverpool’s victory has tightened the race for the top four, as they now share 58 points with Manchester United and Aston Villa (5th), while United remain in third place on goal difference.

In other matches played earlier, Everton lost 1–2 to West Ham United, while Fulham FC defeated Aston Villa by a lone goal.
