A Nigerian pastor’s wife has sparked reactions online after calling out older women over how they treat her in church.
Sharing her experience, she narrated how a woman confronted her during a church service and made a remark about her appearance.
In her words, she said:
“Some of you need to warn your mothers, talk to your mother. Tell your mothers to leave pastor’s wife alone. I’m this kind of person that doesn’t know how to socialise, I’m just learning it gradually. Most times I’m with my headset, even in church. On Sunday, I wore my headset and was going out to get something from the car.”
According to her, the situation escalated after the woman allegedly mocked her for showing off with her husband’s money because of the hair she wore.
She said she couldn’t ignore the comment and had to respond, telling the woman to mind her business and focus on her own home.
“The hair I wore was new, my husband bought it since last year, but it was the first time I wore it to church. The woman said, ‘See her, na to dey use papa money dey shine she sabi.’ I told her, did I stop you from spending your husband’s money too? Spend your husband’s money and leave me alone. You people should talk to your mothers,” she added.
Many reactions have followed her outburst. One user wrote, “Pastor’s wife sef dey face this kind thing? Na wa oo” 😳 Another added. “Church people and gossip ehn.”
