The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced an electricity supply outage in parts of Abuja on Wednesday.
In a notice on Wednesday, the company said the outage is due to preventive maintenance at the Central Area GIS 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Abuja.
TCN noted that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, will be unable to off-take electricity to customers in the Central Business District, Wuse Zones 1–7, including Wuse Market, Sheraton Hotel, Jabi, Utako and environs, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
“The maintenance exercise will enable TCN engineers to undertake routine preventive checks on the transformer from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026,” TCN stated.
