The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has sparked discussions after revealing what he described as a message from God regarding the schoolchildren and teachers recently kidnapped in Oyo State.
While addressing worshippers during a church gathering, the cleric stated that God assured him the victims would eventually regain their freedom in a remarkable way. However, he noted that no specific details were given about when or how the release would occur.
“God is moving in Nigeria. God spoke to me concerning the release of the kidnapped Oyo schoolchildren and teachers. He told me it would be dramatic.”
Pastor Adeboye explained that he was instructed not to concern himself with the timeline or circumstances surrounding the release, as those aspects remained under divine supervision.
According to him, God made it clear that every stage of the situation was already being handled and that further revelations about events following the incident would come later.
“Though He didn’t reveal the time or details, He asked me to leave that aspect in His hands and said He would later speak to me about what would happen after this particular incident.”
The statement has since attracted varied reactions across social media platforms. Many Christians welcomed the prophecy with prayers and optimism, expressing faith that the victims would return safely. Others, however, stressed the need for security agencies to continue aggressive efforts aimed at securing the release of those abducted.
The remarks come at a time when concern continues to grow over the welfare of the kidnapped pupils and teachers, with many Nigerians anxiously awaiting positive developments and hoping for their safe rescue.
