The victim, Tayo Johnson, is currently receiving treatment at Jos University Teaching Hospital after suffering multiple machete cuts that have left him unable to walk.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Johnson shared how what started as a normal journey quickly turned into a nightmare he may never forget.
According to him, he was traveling from Abuja to Bauchi when the vehicle he boarded got to a junction in Jos. That was when everything changed.
“They stopped us and began asking for Christians inside the vehicle,” he said.
Before he could fully understand what was happening, someone in the vehicle pointed directly at him.
What followed was pure horror.
“They broke the glass, dragged me out, and started attacking me with cutlasses, stones, and big rocks. They were many… more than 10,” he recounted.
Johnson, who works as a printer in Gombe State, had only traveled to visit his family in Kogi State. He never imagined that the return journey would almost cost him his life.
Now confined to a wheelchair, he continues to battle both physical pain and emotional trauma from the attack.
This incident has once again raised serious concerns about security and safety in parts of Nigeria, especially in areas known for recurring tensions.
Many Nigerians are reacting with anger and fear, calling for urgent action to prevent such attacks and protect innocent lives.
