A Nigerian man has accused police officers of abducting him at a checkpoint in Port Harcourt and demanding ₦2 million after allegedly threatening to shoot him.
The visibly shaken man, who shared his account online, claimed the incident happened around 2am when officers stopped him at a checkpoint.
According to him, the officers drove him around for several hours before putting on ski masks and taking him into a bush.
He further alleged that one of the officers pointed a rifle at his head and threatened to shoot him unless he transferred ₦2 million.
His account has sparked concern online, with social media users calling for the allegations to be taken seriously and expressing sympathy for him.
Some commenters also questioned why incidents involving alleged police misconduct continued despite widespread public attention.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate information about the identities of the officers involved or an official response from the police.
