Tinubu Is Our Son, Katsina Will Vote Him In 2027 — Radda

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has pledged the state’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing the President’s political ties to former leaders Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Radda said Tinubu’s longstanding relationships with prominent Katsina politicians and his support for the state’s interests would help secure votes for him in the next presidential election.

The governor spoke on Monday while receiving a delegation led by former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, who visited Katsina to mobilise support for Tinubu.

Yari’s delegation visited the Katsina and Daura emirates as part of its engagement with traditional institutions ahead of the 2027 elections.

Radda said the delegation had met traditional rulers to explain Tinubu’s plans and solicit their support.

“He was here to canvas for votes. He has gone around to visit the traditional institutions to explain to them the mission and vision of Mr President and his intention for this country,” the governor said.

He added that the state had assured the delegation of its commitment to Tinubu’s re-election.

“We assured them of our efforts to ensure the victory of Mr President come 2027 election, Insha Allah,” Radda said.

The governor claimed the delegation received a positive response from residents and traditional rulers, who he said had pledged their loyalty to Tinubu.

“They have shown their support, and they have pledged their loyalty to Mr President. They consider Mr President as the son of the soil,” he said.

Radda linked Tinubu’s relationship with Katsina to his political association with Buhari, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, and his friendship with Yar’Adua, who died in office in 2010.

“He has been a political friend to our late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. So Katsina State is his home, and he has come to reassure us,” the governor said.

Yari declined to comment on the purpose of his visit when approached, while Radda said the engagements were part of efforts to consolidate support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Katsina, Buhari’s home state, remains an important political battleground in northern Nigeria as parties and their campaign structures intensify mobilisation ahead of the polls.
