Residents of the All Progressives Congress in the Abuja Municipal Area Council on Saturday voted massively for Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the party’s presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 polls.
A total of 15,531 APC members participated in the exercise conducted across the 12 wards of AMAC, with President Tinubu emerging as the overwhelming choice of party members.
The exercise featured two presidential aspirants — President Tinubu and Osifo Stanley — but the latter failed to secure a single vote in all the wards.
Results released after the exercise showed that Tinubu polled 5,717 votes in AMAC Zone B, covering Kabusa, Wuse, Garki and City Centre wards.
Further breakdown of the results indicated that Tinubu secured 1,001 votes in City Centre, 2,172 in Garki, 996 in Wuse, 1,675 in Gwarinpa, 1,548 in Kabusa, 1,283 in Jiwa, 1,060 in Gui, 1,826 in Karu, 447 in Karshi, 1,706 in Orozo and 978 in Nyanya wards.
Speaking after the exercise at the Apo Resettlement Town Hall, the Returning Officer for the election and Chairman of AMAC, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, described the turnout and voting pattern as a strong endorsement of Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, residents of AMAC are satisfied with the President’s performance and are ready to support his re-election bid in 2027.
Maikalangu urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the next general election to ensure continuity in governance.
Also speaking, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, said President Tinubu had done so much for Nigerians and deserved massive support from citizens.
