President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to leave Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for a strategic three-nation trip to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, news.ng reports.
According to sources within the Presidency and a statement by the State House, Abuja, the President will travel to France before heading to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa-France Summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto of Kenya.
The summit, scheduled for May 11 to 12, 2026, is themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”
Details revealed that the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, and the restructuring of the global financing architecture.
It will also address issues such as climate action, economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological advancement, and peace-building.
The President will then head to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the annual Africa CEO Forum, scheduled for May 14 and 15.
“With the theme ‘Scale or Fail’, this year’s Africa CEO Forum will be the largest gathering of African private sector leaders, investors, and policymakers, focusing on accelerating economic transformation through shared scale, regional integration, and increased cross-border investment.
“Held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the summit brings together over 2,000 top executives and national leaders to debate strategies for building resilient, competitive industries,” the statement noted.
