Former Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon on Friday completed his £70 million move to La Liga giants FC Barcelona, News.ng reports.
This ended the race for his signature, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal also interested in the 25-year-old, who spent three and a half years at St James’ Park.
Gordon signed on the dotted line after completing his medical on Thursday. He has signed a five-year contract with Barcelona.
Speaking about the club at his official unveiling, Gordon said, “It means everything. To play for Barcelona is the biggest dream possible; it’s the biggest club on the planet. I know it comes with responsibility.
“I’m ready for the challenge. The shirt holds a lot of weight, but I’m ready for the challenge.
“I spoke with Hansi Flick; I’m very excited. He’s an amazing man manager; what he’s done for the club is amazing.
“I was excited to play for Barca when I was three years of age; to play with Lamine (Yamal) and the players is exciting.”
