Arsenal have activated the option to make Piero Hincapie’s loan move from Bayer Leverkusen a permanent deal.
The defender joined on an initial loan from Leverkusen last summer.
He helped Arsenal to their first Premier League title for 22 years.
Sky Sports News reports that the option price for Hincapie is in the region of £34.5m (€40m).
The 24-year-old Ecuador international has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions.
Hincapie made 39 appearances in all competitions last season and started the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
