Troops arrest three suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Yobe

Troops have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers to terrorist groups during an operation in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.

This is contained in a post on X by a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama.

Makama pointed out that the suspects, believed to be linked to ISWAP and JAS elements, were apprehended at about 3:00 p.m. on April 15, 2026, by troops of 233 Battalion in collaboration with members of a local hunters’ group.

He said that the suspects were intercepted while conveying supplies in a pickup vehicle.

According to him, items recovered from them include 14 cartons of drinks, three mobile phones, watermelons, and the sum of N69,450.

He further disclosed that the recovered items were suspected to be logistics meant for terrorist elements operating within the area.

“The suspects and exhibits are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action,” Makama said.

The security expert noted that operations were ongoing to disrupt supply chains and cut off support networks aiding terrorist activities in the North-East.
