Troops Kill 15 Terrorists In Borno

Troops of the Nigerian military have killed 15 terrorists in an air strike north-west of Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, the military has said.

The strike was carried out at about 11:50 p.m. on Friday, October 23, following intelligence reports and confirmed sightings of terrorist movements in the area.

The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni.

According to the statement, the air strike was followed by ground operations to assess the area and consolidate the gains of the engagement.

The military said the operation was part of its sustained offensive against terrorist groups in the North-East, aimed at disrupting their movements and weakening their operational capabilities.

It added that intelligence gathering and coordinated military action remained central to efforts to deny insurgents freedom of movement and protect communities in the region.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and creating conditions for the restoration of normalcy and economic activities in affected communities.

The military also urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information about suspicious movements and activities.

It said collaboration between troops and civilians remained crucial to consolidating operational gains and achieving lasting peace and security across the North-East.

The military did not identify the terrorist group involved in the latest operation or provide further details about the ground operations.
