Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have rescued 92 kidnapped victims during an operation against suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.
The development was contained in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation was carried out on Saturday by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion deployed at Echo 1, Dutse Kura, along the Buratai-Kamuya road in Biu Local Government Area.
Sources said the troops picked up suspicious movement through surveillance, which showed terrorists moving civilians and vehicles into nearby bush paths.
A Quick Reaction Force was immediately deployed to the area, while additional troops from the 27 Task Force Brigade joined in pursuing the fleeing terrorists toward the Mangari-Dora general area.
“During the operation, troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon the kidnapped victims and the vehicles before escaping further into the bush,” Makama added.
The victims were successfully rescued, while the troops also recovered the vehicles left behind by the fleeing attackers.
