- Trump has announced that high-level talks with Iran are set to be held in the Qatari capital Doha, in a post on Truth Social, with Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirming that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will attend the talks.
- Tehran, however, has denied that any “technical meetings of the working groups are planned for this week,” according to Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who was quoted by State TV.
- The prospect of talks on Tuesday come as both countries have agreed to cease attacks in the Gulf after two days of mutual strikes that saw Iran attack shipping in the Gulf as well as US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, with US attacks on southern Iran.
