Nigerian chess champion, Tunde Onakoya, has become the first Nigerian to play chess at the Louvre Museum, the world’s most prestigious museum.

Onakoya played a symbolic game of chess inside the iconic Louvre, marking a significant milestone for Nigerian and African chess on the global stage.
The grandmaster described the moment as a dream come true and a proud representation of Nigeria’s growing influence in the game.

Equally, Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon chess game.
