Several UAE residents reported being logged out of Facebook and experiencing issues with Instagram and Messenger on Friday evening, as a widespread global outage hit Meta’s platforms.The disruption began at around 5. 45pm UAE time, with users across Dubai and other emirates saying they were suddenly logged out of Facebook and unable to sign back in.Many reported receiving error messages despite entering the correct login credentials, while others encountered blank pages, frozen news feeds and timelines that failed to load.Users in the UAE were not alone. Reports of similar problems emerged worldwide, with Facebook appearing to be the hardest-hit platform.Many users said they were abruptly logged out and met with messages stating that an “unexpected error occurred” when attempting to log back in. Others reported that stories, comments and Messenger conversations were failing to load properly.On Reddit and other social media platforms, users described widespread disruptions across Meta’s services.Some said Facebook pages stopped updating, while others reported issues sending and receiving messages on Messenger and WhatsApp.Outage-monitoring services recorded a sharp spike in complaints during the incident. Before experiencing issues of its own, Downdetector logged more than 113,000 reports related to Facebook and over 9,500 reports related to Instagram.Reports of WhatsApp and Messenger disruptions also surged as the outage spread globally.Meta had not immediately provided details on the exact cause of the disruption, and it remained unclear whether all of its platforms were affected equally.
