United States President Donald Trump says the US has no closer friend than Britain since independence.
Trump made this remark on Tuesday when he received British monarch, King Charles III, at the White House.
According to him, the US and Britain share the same roots, speak the same language, and hold the same values.
The Republican further stated that together, American and British warriors had defended the same extraordinary civilization under the same banners of red, white, and blue.
“In the centuries since we won our independence, Americans have had no friend closer than the British.
“American patriots today can sing of My Country, ’Tis of Thee, the sweet land of liberty, only because our colonial ancestors first sang God Save the King,” Trump said.
