US-Iran War Live Updates: After tensions escalated sharply with Israel and Iran exchanging strikes on Monday, both countries said they had halted attacks on each other following an appeal from US President Donald Trump.

 

Tehran, however, warned that any further Israeli strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon could trigger a renewed response from Iran.

 

Israel had renewed attacks after Trump said Netanyahu “doesn’t call the shots” and insisted that he was the one making the big decisions.

 

The latest flare-up marked the most direct confrontation between Israel and Iran outside Lebanon since April and threatened to derail Washington’s ongoing efforts to secure a broader agreement with Tehran.
