Iran has said that technical talks with the US in Switzerland have been completed, with $12bn in frozen Iranian funds set to be released alongside the temporary suspension of sanctions of Iranian oil, according to Iranian state media.
Four working groups have been established to progress the 60-day period of talks with the US aimed at ending the war in the region between the two, including on “Sanctions Termination, Nuclear Affairs, Reconstruction and Economic Development, and Monitoring and Implementation,” Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Meanwhile, another rounds of talks between Lebanon and Israel are set to begin in Washington on Tuesday, as Israel doubles down on its occupation of southern Lebanon.
