The Management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended two students of the institution with immediate effect for allegedly cyberbullying the suspended President of the Student Union Government (SUG), James Iyanuoluwa Adio.
A statement by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Tajudeen Opoola, who is the Acting Vice Chancellor, said this.
The two suspended students: Alao Iyanuoluwa Odunayo and Olawale Abiodun Samuel, were said to have conspired to cyberbully Adio by posting his private affairs online over his inability to meet their financial demands.
Opoola said the management frowned at the involvement of the two students in denting the image of the university.
While investigation into the matter continues, the management ordered the two students to immediately proceed on suspension.
The management said the university is poised to purge the institution of all behaviours capable of denting the image of FUOYE.
