A man has alleged that controversial Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is an “industry plant” who deliberately engages in online controversies for financial gain.
The man made the claim while recounting his alleged encounters with VeryDarkMan in London.
According to him, he had met the activist twice in London and had the opportunity to have a lengthy conversation with him. He claimed that during one of their discussions, he directly asked VeryDarkMan why he was constantly involved in dragging and calling out public figures.
He alleged that VeryDarkMan’s response was that he was doing it for money.
The man said: “VeryDarkMan is a fake industry plant. I have been with him twice in London, and I had a deep conversation with him. I asked him, ‘Bro, what do you gain from all of this dragging?’ He said he’s doing it for money.”
The allegation has sparked reactions, particularly because VeryDarkMan has built a reputation for publicly confronting celebrities, politicians, businessmen and other public figures over issues he considers controversial.
